GRAND HOTEL WIEN @ tripadvisor

This visit, a late birthday present, we splurged on a suite. The space was enormous and the reception room huge and elegant while also comfortable. Our dining table was so charming that we ate an early dinner in before walking to a wonderful Barber of Seville at the Staatsoper. The room service food was top notch, the Tafelspitz excellent.

We stayed at the Grand Hotel during our visit in Vienna over a long weekend. With earlier visits we used to stay at the Imperial Hotel, but this time we wanted to try something different while still holding on to a beautiful nineteenth-century Viennese style decor. Having been spoiled by the Imperial Hotel (except with their breakfast which is abysmal) we were a bit anxious how this stay would compare. But what a surprise we got, an absolute perfect experience. The junior suite we stayed in was spacious and beautifully furnished, one big room with couch and coffee table on one side and a king-sized bed on the other. A spacious hallway with two big closets for him & her and a spacious bathroom. [...] My god. We travel a lot and almost exclusively stay in 5-star hotels but it is rare to be spoiled with such an amazing, uncompromising service striving for perfection. Every wish, and we had a lot of them as two birthdays had to be celebrated, was accommodated with perfection. The staff went out of their way, even bending their rules on some occasions to accommodate our wishes. On top of it the breakfast in this hotel is amazing. It is designed as semi-buffet, giving you buffet as well as à la carte options. The buffet part has a wonderful variety and even offering a well sorted and delicious selection of Arabic and Japanese breakfast dishes. Even champagne on ice was available as free choice. The breakfast venue was well staffed and buffet items got replaced early and continuously, we never saw empty serving dishes. Needless to say we enjoyed our stay immensely and have found our new favourite hotel in Vienna. Will be back.

This hotel was outstanding. From the rooms and helpful staff, to the location in the heart of the cultural and shopping/restaurant district, which seems to attract people from all over the city. It´s just a block or two from the Opera and the Symphony (Musikverein), both of which I´d highly recommend, for the engaging performances and the ornate and acoustically excellent venues. The hotel is architecturally grand and evokes imagery of what you´d imagine "old Vienna" would be like, complete with a pianist playing in the main lobby each night The rooms are lovely and well appointed. While the bed was slightly harder than what we´re used to in the states, the cappuccino station and heated bathroom floor in the toilet area/bidet, more than compensated. (We were upgraded, so check when you book.) The breakfast, which was included with our room, was a veritable feast with a large array of smoked salmon, meats and cheeses, fruits, yogurt, breads, and both Asian and Mediterranean stations with some exotic choices from these cuisines. It´s also adjacent to an indoor mall with a grocery store, pharmacy, salon, and small/interesting boutiques, should you need anything. I highly recommend this romantic hotel for its elegance and location.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. Grand surroundings. Immaculately clean. We were upgraded to a suite as told at time of booking if they had one available we would get it at no extra cost. Breakfast was outstanding, anything from the normal bacon and eggs through to miso soup, fish, champagne, the list was endless. We ate in the hotel restaurant a few times and it was perfect. Staff were all very pleasant and friendly. We will definitely remind the future.

You can’t think of a more majestic hotel to soak up the Renaissance of Vienna. It is well centered to all transport, major sights especially the Kärntner Street, Cathedral and Opera. This hotel, a 100 years ago, was the epicenter of the Viennese social life and the room and hotel overall, was sooo luxurious, food and drinks absolutely divine, the staff were so helpful and friendly, with nothing to hard to satisfy us, the client. This hotel, is one to come back to, giving a great reminder on how life was like for the aristocracy of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire.

We loved this classic, beautiful and luxury hotel in a central location. Upscale rooms, extremely attentive staff, a fantastic spa, and an awesome rooftop restaurant. A truly elegant way to spend a decent weekend in Vienna, a first class experience.

We visited a few five star hotel on our trip. Imo this is as good as it’s gonna get as far the service. The room we had is old and full of character. However everything works great, like any other 5 star hotel. The service is above and beyond others though.
